The Scarritt Home – Before the fire

We just learned of the fire that hit the beautiful William Chick Scarritt Home, the only surviving building in Kansas City designed by the world-renown architects Daniel Hudson Burnham and John Wellborn Root.

The Scarritt Home, built in 1888, had been undergoing major restoration and rehabilitation. We were out filming the KC Northeast Museum earlier this summer. The Scarritt home, across the street from the museum, caught our eye as a beautiful home. Although it was obviously undergoing restoration, we were intrigued and took a brief aerial view.
